Great to have you here!
My name is Kristian, a programmer and game developer from Norway, and this is my personal website which I use to keep a portfolio of my work.
I hope you'll take a look at my various projects below, and if you'd like to read more about me, you can do so here;
A serious VR demo developed for the Meta Quest 2.
Work as a farmer on a martian colony, providing food and oxygen to your fellow colonists while maintaining balance of resources like water and electricity.
This was the final project of the AR/VR add-on course I attended at the Inland Norway university of applied science.
I was the programmer and co-game designer during this project, as well as doing most of the research to scientifically back the project. I also took care of most of the optimization to achieve our target performance.

Developed in Unity at the Inland Norway university of applied science, 2024
A VR experience developed for the Meta Quest 2. Explore and learn about some well known areas found in Hamar, Norway. Pick up trees and rocks, and maybe even a tiny person too!
Developed as a part of my "App-a-week" exam, made entirely in the course of 5 days.
I was the project lead, lead programmer and lead game designer during this project. I also took care of most of the optimization to achieve our target performance.
The game was nominated for the "Best XR Student Experience" at the VRINN awards during nordic VR Forum 2023.

A party game for 1-4 players. Move along an interactive game board and aquire as much territory as possible while paying tribute to the gods! Then, duke it out in various minigames to build your treasure trove and come out on top!
I was the project lead and game designer, as well as the gameplay and AI programmer for the minigames during this project. I also stepped in as environment artist, as the team only had programmers.
The game was nominated for the "Best idea" and "People's choice" awards at the Gameschool Expo 2023.

Bachelor project developed in Unreal 5.1 at the Inland Norway university of applied science, 2022/23
A 3D action platformer, using a grapplehook to swing between platforms or to combat nasty monsters. You play as Richard, a brilliant scientist and adventurer, who has accidentally crashlanded on a hostile planet. Help him find the missing parts from his broken ship so he can repair it and escape! Be warned, the planet hosts many monsters looking for a tasty scientist to snack on... Luckily, Richard came prepared with his energy sword! Cut down your enemies and upgrade richard through a talent system!
I was the lead AI programmer and enemy behavior designer on this project, as well as general game designer.

Developed in Unreal 4.27 at the Inland Norway university of applied science, spring 2021
A fast paced collection of minigames, that get harder the longer you play! The game features 17 different minigames. Each minigame lasts between 15 to 5 seconds, based on which minigame it is.
I was the project lead, game designer and lead gameplay programmer during this project. I was also the manager at the studio that developed this game.

Released on Steam May 2018
A VR game developed for SteamVR and HTC vive. The player stands inside a volcano, armed with a random melee weapon in one hand and a random ranged weapon in the other. Over time, waves of enemies attack the player, the goal being to survive as many waves as possible. Weapons break after being used too much, and are replaced with a new random weapon with it's own properties

A game engine made from the ground up in C++ using OpenGL, Bullet and FMod. The engine could simulate physics, such as a ball ramming through a group of small cubes, and also had a "black hole" tool, which would suck up all physics objects around it and hold them until released.
I was responsible for adding sound functionality and worked on the component systems in the engine.
Developed at the Norway Inland university of applied science 2022/23

A gamefication project, with the core idea of creating a game that would teach its players about security procedures and potential dangers on board a cargo ship. The player would embark on a voyage, during which a series of problems could occur on board the ship. When a problem occured, they had to make the crew go and fix the issue safely by following procedure. Some problems could be prevented entirely by performing routine tasks, which awarded them more points.
We also spoke with the Norwegian Maritime Authority about the project, and we got a lot of help from them during the design phase.
Prototype developed in Unreal 4.27 at the Inland Norway university of applied science, 2022

During my studies, I was tasked with setting up systems, causal loop diagrams and flow charts to simulate various cases. From finding the optimal ratio of gatherers and crafters in an online game to determining if a city needs to evactuate from a coming flood or not. All of these cases were simulated within Stella Architect.
As a personal project to learn Python, I have made a couple chat bots for Discord which have been used in servers with friends, and also in some larger communities. They have been strictly "for fun" bots that respond to what users send, as well as having specific commands.
During my studies, I have helped the gameschool student organization Valmuen with some video editing for their events. These events usually hosted over 100 participants, the largest one being the LAN party hosted spring 2023.
