Chaotic combat is a VR game developed for SteamVR and HTC Vive. The player finds themselves on a small island inside a volcano. Over time, waves of enemies move closer and attack the player. To defend themselves, the player is given random weapons from a wide arsenal from pop-culture. As they fight, the weapon wears down and breaks. At that point, the god of combat blesses them with a new weapon from the arsenal. The game lasts until the player falls in battle.
As we used assets from pop-culture, as well as "Panic attack" by Dreamtheater as soundtrack, the project was only shown and played internally at Danvik Folkehøgskole. The game should still be available on one of the hard drives at the school, but for legal purposes I can't show gameplay or assets.
It was the first big project developed during the course at Danvik Folkehøgskole, mainly using Playmaker for scripting with slight C# code to make the random weapon mechanic work.
The team consisted of me as programmer and another student as the artist. My tasks consisted of progrmming the enemies to work correctly, making controllers work in VR and balancing the gameplay.
